Spring Brunch Dinner Party

A couple months ago I posted about my ‘Galentines’ Dinner Party, and now I’m excited to share the photos, decoration ideas, and menu from my ‘Spring Brunch’ Dinner Party! Which, I realize can be confusing, because Brunch and Dinner are at different times of the day, but it worked best for everyone to meet at night, but I still wanted to make brunch food. So it turned into brunch for dinner!

Like I said in my last post about mu dinner parties, they are definitely a lot of work and consume my life for a few days. But I love having something to plan and ‘dream’ about, and love the idea of being able to provide a nice night for Mom’s knowing full-well how badly we all need moments to feel a little extra pampered. Even if it is something as simple as Brunch for Dinner and a nice table setting! Keep scrolling for all the info on this delightful evening.

I, like so many millennials, spent a good amount of time scrolling on good ol’ Pinterest to find inspiration. I saw this mixture of citrus and flowers, and fell in love! It added some extra interest, texture, and color. I may not like grapefruit all the much, but WOW, did it make a beautiful tablescape! And although it wasn’t too fragrant, the combination of fresh flowers, eucalyptus, and citrus was divine.

The table-runner was bought on clearance (Target.com always has some great options for that!). I love Opalhouse table runners, my last one was from there too.

This time I used a gift card I had and bought fabric Napkins and tablecloths from Amazon. I was surprised about how cheap they were! about $25 for 12 napkins and 2 tablecloths. I saved on the napkin rings and just bought this fun mustard Yellow (which I think could be my favorite color) ribbon. My mom just happened to be in town and was a huge help in letting me bounce ideas off of her and all the set-up. We spent WAY too much time the morning-of trying to get the napkins folded and ribbon tied just right. Ultimately it was such a small detail, but kind of fun to work out all the possibilities.

Unfortunately I didn’t get any pictures of the food set-up on the table , but I’m going to be honest, it was nothing special! Just a table with food set on it. I wanted to create a good mix between savory and sweet, since it’s always a toss-up which one is better for brunch! Here’s the menu and the links to everything that ended up being served:

First off, we had my recipe of Sweet Potato Quinoa Patties, and served the fried egg, bacon, and Jalapeno Lime Ranch on the side. To accommodate a Gluten and Dairy Allergy, I replaced the flour with almond meal/flour, and the Parmesan Cheese with Nu…

First off, we had my recipe of Sweet Potato Quinoa Patties, and served the fried egg, bacon, and Jalapeno Lime Ranch on the side. To accommodate a Gluten and Dairy Allergy, I replaced the flour with almond meal/flour, and the Parmesan Cheese with Nutritional Yeast. Those substitutions are listed in the recipe as well. They’re definitely something a little different, but has a familiar flavor.

To make sure we got our veggies in, I made salad of Avocados, Fresh sweet Corn from the cob, sliced cherry tomatoes, Cilantro, and Cucumber. I tossed it in salt and pepper, Lime juice, and a little bit of Olive oil. It was simple, but added a ‘fresh’ element to it!

So this isn’t my photo, but I served these Bagel Bombs from The Baker Chick, which is a copycat recipe from Momofuku Milk Bar. I’ve been making these for years and they never disappoint- no fancy techniques required! They’re savory yet indulgent.

For some extra sweetness to end the evening (and because what’s a girl’s night without Chocolate!), I made these Brownies by The Stay at Home Chef (this is also her picture, by the way!). I’ve been also making these for years and they’re a no-fail absolutely delicious recipe when I have a chocolate craving that only brownies can satisfy.

So there you have it! I hope this was all helpful to you in planning your next big or small Brunch… or dinner ;) If you have any questions let me know in the comments below, and don’t forget you can pin these photos and save them for later!
